Using her 30 years of experience in the hair care industry, K employs her understanding of what it takes to feel confident to motivate others to focus on inner beauty. This ideology aligns with her belief that true transformation is a personal journey waiting to be shared with the world. Coupled with her faith, this arms K with what she needs to be a successful business leader and community advocate.

She is a member of the Potters House Dallas, under the leadership of Bishop T. D. Jakes. Her volunteerism includes work with Hero’s House, S.T.A.R. K partnered with the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC) to educate stylists on AIDS awareness and prevention. Through this collaboration, K worked with the City of Dallas and UT Southwestern Dallas to launch FADE OUT HIV, a training initiative for barbers and stylists in predominately black communities to serve as awareness and prevention resources. As a result, Baylor University recognized K as a distinguished alumnus for her philanthropic efforts both in her community and abroad.

Adding to the fullness of her reach, K wrote her freshman book, A Mane Attraction: A Go-To Guide for Healthy Hair in 2013 followed by her sophomore book, Unleash The Greatness: A 31 Day Devotional in 2018.  She has produced award winning articles for national hair magazine publications and has worked as a certified educator for Navarro College, Design Essentials and CHI.
